Art Shows Thursday 15th October

This Saturday 10 October, will see the the Launch event of Joe Ledbetter's Amalgamation Tour and his first U.K solo show at the London Miles Gallery.

Influenced by classic animation, graphic design, and daily life, Joe Ledbetter's art is... well... a lot of things. Light-hearted in its approach, he often combines cute and cuddly creatures with unfortunate - albeit humorous - situations. With a lean on the subversive and absurd, these scenarios are all too familiar, questioning our tendency of taking life (and ourselves) too seriously.

Joe Ledbetter will be in attendance at the opening to sign your toys, prints and more. Please R.S.V.P to attend the opening event on October 10th to Sales@Londonmiles.com.

Black Rat Press' next show is a solo exhibition of works by Lucas Price. ‘Jesus Help Me Find My Proper Place’ previews on Thursday 15 October.

Lucas is one of London’s most prolific street artists and a founding member of the Burning Candy Collective. Lucas’ gallery works have an raw urgent feel to them, both angry and intimate, as if he has purged his mind in the process of applying paint to canvas. Often heavily layered and incorporating overlapping text and images they have a striking honesty and freshness to them. For this show Lucas has created an installation which promises to confuse the senses and give a unique insight into his view of the world.

John Simpson's solo show, ‘Inheritors’ at the Signal Gallery will be his third solo show in London and brings together a refined body of new work from 2009. Much of the work in the show borrows ideas from Native American folk law. This is a common theme running through much of Simpson’s work. His concern is to explore the puzzling relationships between man and other animals in order to find subconscious links. ‘I don’t wish to Anthropomorphise these creatures but rather to reflect on man’s position within nature’. It is Simpson’s ability to capture the physical and psychological qualities of these creatures that make the resulting imagery both disquieting and enchanting in equal measure.
