Tibetan Skull Camera

Named after Yama, the Tibetan God of Death, this bizarre camera was created using a real human skull, blessed by a Tibetan Lama.

Designed and built by Wayne Martin Belger “for the study of exodus and for the research of modern incarnations of historical iconic figures”, Yama looks nothing like a photo camera, but, according to the info on Boy of Blue Industries, it actually has a film loading system, so it must take photos.

Yama is made from aluminum, titanium, copper, brass, bronze steel, silver, gold and mercury and is studded with Asian and American turquoise, 4 sapphires, 9 opals and 3 rubies (the biggest one costs $5,000). With all the digital cameras on the market today, Yama can’t target the title of best photo camera, but it stands a shot as the world’s scariest camera.

Netching Is The New Word By TMD Crew

I just read a really interesting post about the TMD crew's new form of graff via RT's blog. I will give you a quote of it..."Allow me to explain the term 'Netching'. You know how sometimes an in-joke can just get taken too far and spawn a whole set of slang? That’s how NETCH came about. Pretty much it is an abbreviation of ‘Next Echelon’. There was a lot of joking around at some of our walls about taking things to the highest level possible in regards to scale, detail and concept. It was half-joking around but ended up motivating a small movement in NZ that has really evolved our approach to painting entirely."

Deus, Askew and Berst. August 2009

"The idea was to bring a combination of each others styles into each piece by putting up our own first outlines but working in sections across both pieces. The precursor to this approach is definitely the signature ‘Style Smashing’ of MSK and AWR pieces by Tyke, Ewok, Revok and Rime to name a few. It is also a variation of the ethos behind ‘The Exchange‘ Project. Berst and I worked in total unison on each piece bringing our own illustrative elements across both names and attempting to think as different as possible about every element painted."

The Smoking Turtle

In the northern province of Jilin, China there is a terrapin that is addicted to nicotine. According to the Xinhua news agency, "One day, Yun (the owner) teased the turtle by putting a cigarette butt into its mouth, and to his surprise it started to smoke it. From then on, he shared his cigarettes with his pet.

"It seems to have become addicted," Yun was quoted as saying.

"Whenever I smoke in front of it, it will stick its head out of the water and fidget about until I give it the stub."

Yun proved his claim by putting a cigarette in the tortoise's mouth in front the paper's reporter and his neighbours. To everyone's surprise, the turtle finished it in less than four minutes."...WTF

Paignton Ice Skating for Cars

Shocking driving condtions in Paignton on the busiest shopping day of the year. The car is barely moving but the hill makes stopping impossible and both people in the front of the car decide to jump out?????

The couple were warned by neighbours not to venture out that day and they were the only people to attempt to drive on that road. There were numerous pedestrians around who could barely walk on the black ice so a car really stood no chance.

Badass Hummer of Santa Claus

I’ve always thought that Santa-Clauses move here and there only with the help of their sledges. as it turned out, I was completely wrong. The following car belongs to a very stylish Santa and his elves look more than promising. The car is equipped with everything even the most demanding Santa needs. This Hummer is a completely red one and i has even a fireplace.

What a machine!

Boxing on Floating Ice

Wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and sneakers, a group of winter swimmers entertained passers-by during a series of boxing matches performed on a block of floating ice. Held in Harbin City, the wacky competition had contestants punch each other with over sized boxing gloves while struggling to keep their balance on the slippery ice.

One of the ice boxers lost his temper when the referee tried to stop him from hitting his downed opponent and knocked the “official” in the ice-cold water surrounding the ring.
